@roo, On the topic of less toxic people playing, I agree 100 percent. The first thing I ever experienced in the game (after about 15 minutes with my first character) was someone giving away a mount and other cosmetic items. I think if Gamigo would update graphics only and do some marketing, they could make money from new players and even returning players. FTP games are everywhere, so there’s no reason they couldn’t get this one up in the air again.

@Roo, lol, replying to myself. SO far, I have installed RIFT and can see where Blizzard stole a lot of the items they released with the last x-pac. I also see a whole lot less toxic people playing, fun and helpful folks as a matter of fact. I also had a bit of trouble with the keyboard I was using and it screwed up a lot of my passwords, etc, but I was able to uninstall the game (actually deleted it), re-install and get back into it. WOW (not the game, but expression) it is nice. Now I can time suck with the best of them. Thanks for having this article and the people who responded to it!!!!

I feel that this game still deserves more attention because of its uniqueness. No other game that I’ve played has a uniqueness as this one and that says alot. I agree though, some people complain because the may spend 12 to 16 hours playing this game every single day, and of course, there going to level up faster than others. Especially if they are also doing IAs and nothing else.

But, I really do enjoy playing Rift and I wish that more people will come and explore this game. We need more people to explore this game and have fun 🙂

Yes, there are plenty of people who do this and then complain about “lack of content”. They are welcome to move on, but they missed out.

We also have players who have been around for years, have played every class, most of the “standard” roles and specifications … but they still contribute and enjoy doing so. That makes it good to have them around. Funnily enough, even the Trolls (who try to offend everybody) and the Snowflakes (who take offence at everything) can be entertaining. But if you don’t like either or both, you can just Ignore them and carry on … doing whatever suits you.

Everyone tends to do a bit of fighting, either hiding behind a Tough Tank while under the care of a Healer, or just doing Impressive Damage, but some prefer collecting materials that can be used to craft stuff. Durable items v. consumables, low-level v. end-game quality, for personal use, to share with friends or for commercial sale, sure!

I’m not mad keen on making my own Dimensions, but it is kind of handy to have a private place where I can bank the materials that I collected, and use them to craft the items that I, my alts, or friends can use.

I’ll give it another year – again!
