Bless Unleashed is an action RPG developed by Round 8 Studio and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was released in 2019. It was initially available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The console versions have since been shut down, and only the PC remains available.

The game has certainly gotten its fair share of criticism since being released, and with the shutdown of the console version, the future might not be looking so bright for Bless Unleashed. But is it still worth playing in 2024? Read on to find out.

Gameplay

The character customization options in Bless Unleash are excellent, allowing players to create a unique character.

Players can choose from five classes, each with unique abilities and playstyle. Four races are also available, although this doesn’t affect gameplay much. The Humans and Elves are standard, but the Varg and Ippin races contain more of a unique flavor.

The combat in Bless Unleashed is fast-paced and action-oriented. It is also the best aspect of the game and is one of the few reasons people still play it.

The movements are fast and fluid, and attacks are satisfying to land. The game also features a combo system that allows players to chain together attacks for extra damage.

One of the significant weaknesses of Bless Unleashed is its story. While the game has a main storyline, it is predictable and doesn’t do much to draw the player in.

The game also lacks meaningful NPC interaction and dialogue, sometimes making the world feel empty.

Graphics

One of the first things players will notice about Bless Unleashed is its stunning graphics. The game features detailed character models, lush environments, and impressive particle effects that bring the world to life.

Our only critique on the graphical side is that the game’s look is a bit generic and doesn’t stand out from similar games like Black Desert Online or Final Fantasy XIV.

Sound

Bless Unleashed has an outstanding soundtrack. Some of it has been made by the legendary composer Hans Zimmer. The music is a mix of soothing and epic tracks that help bring the world to life.

The voice acting is also great, with a talented cast of actors. At least for the earlier part of the game.

Population

Bless Unleashed was a game that played better on a console versus the PC, so for a long time, that is where the population was. Since the console versions have been shut down, Bless Unleashed is left with a small PC player base.

According to Steam Charts, Bless Unleashed has around 540 average concurrent players in the last 30 days, which is terrible, considering Steam is the only place you can still play Bless Unleashed.

Bless Unleashed is not directly pay-to-win, but it has plenty of convenience items that will help you progress faster in the cash shop.

Conclusion

Bless Unleashed feels like an unfinished and dying game. While the graphics are stunning, there isn’t much else to recommend Bless Unleashed in 2024. With the console version already shut down, and the PC version on life support, we can’t help but feel like the game doesn’t have much time left.

At release, the game had some promise as a casual combat-focused MMO, especially on consoles, but it failed to deliver in the long run. There are some much better options in the genre, like Neverwinter or Black Desert Online, that also has fast-paced action combat and great graphics.

Bless Unleashed doesn’t have enough content or unique features to make it stand out in 2023. If you’re looking for an action-oriented MMO, Bless Unleashed may be worth playing, at least just to see it before it is eventually shut down. We suggest giving other options a try first.

The Bless Unleashed team has announced that Bless Unleashed on consoles will shut down on November 30th.

The Bless Unleashed team stated that their agreement with Round8 has come to an end so support for the game would end.

Lumena and other items will no longer be available from the in-game store. However, all items in the in-game Lumena shop will be discounted to 1 Lumena.

GM events will run until the servers close, so make sure to get your fill of Bless Unleashed before it’s too late.

Bless Unleashed will be getting its next update on November 29th, and has laid out the details for the patch in a post over on Steam.

The patch will introduce a “Regrant Runes” system that will add the function at the Equipment Specialist and also a new system called Potential system.

Potential system that allows you to increase the character’s stats by equipping Potential Cores will be added.

A new dimensional dungeon is also coming which promises to be harder than the previously released dungeons.

Bless Unleashed has been off to a rough start since its release earlier this year, but the devs at Round 8 Studio is looking ahead and have plans going well into 2022.

Already later this month we will be seeing new content in the form of a new PvP season, a 5-player lair, a level 40 time dungeon, and more.

Bless Unleashed on PC has received its first big update. The update brings a slew of bug fixes and minor improvements, including changes to items from the Lumena shop which can no longer be traded.

Products in Lumena Shop will become a non-tradable item, which cannot be registered in the Marketplace.

The update also introduces the new Field Boss Twisted Void Spider Queen and a new Time Dungeon The Nightspire – Caverns of Wrath.

The Bless Unleashed team has also posted a summary of a recent Q&A steam where they answered a ton of questions from the community.

Koven Park, the producer of Bless Unleashed, has issued a massive three-part letter to the PC community, detailing updates coming to the MMORPG soon.

The letter covers everything from improvements to the UI on PC, to balancing fixes and new content that will come out on September 15th which includes a new dungeon.

Bless Unleashed is getting closer to release, and has now set a date for the final PC beta which will run from May 12th to 16th.

We will be performing final checks on various parts of the game such as UI/UX, combat, and content that were improved through feedback received from the previous CBT. Functions of the in-game Lumena Shop will also be checked to make sure that it works normally on PC.

A new update has been posted on the Bless Unleashed steam site detailing changes coming to “Field and Dungeon Content”.

Among the changes are more NPCs, smoother quest flow, and elite monster enchantments, which can empower monsters in the field.

A system for queueing and battlefields is also on the way along with some adjustments to dungeon difficulty.

The Spring Update for Bless Unleashed will launch on March 11th. The update is a major one and will contain everything from small bug fixes to additions of new systems.

In a post on Steam, the Bless Unleashed developers have shared some of the improvements coming to Closed Beta 2.

Due to player feedback the camera zoom has been reworked, and you can now easily zoom in/out with the scroll wheel.

A big graphical improvement in the form of better and more natural lighting is also coming, and examples of this can be seen in the post.

Lastly a dungeon tutorial for new players named the Dream Dungeon Tutorial is also being added.

Neowiz and Round 8 Studio has annouced that the closed beta for Bless Unleashed will start on January 14th. Players can sign up for the beta until January 10th.

Closed Beta 2 will include quality of life changes based based on feedback from the previous closed beta.

Players who participate in the test will recieve in-game rewards including a mount, title and currency.
