The tide of war is upon us as DC Universe Online (DCUO) rolls out its Summer Seasonal Event and Bonus Artifact XP week. This exciting update brings about a surge of new features, improvements, and, of course, countless thrilling battles to take part in.

In the Tides of War Summer Seasonal Event, the battle for the Atlantean throne rages on as Aquaman’s duplicitous half-brother, Ocean Master, raises an army of rebel Atlanteans in a bid to usurp King Arthur’s throne. The civil war has extended to the waters of Metropolis, and it is up to you to enter the fray, fight for your chosen side, and secure the Atlantean Outpost. Accomplishing this feat will earn you a slew of new rewards, and engaging emotes such as the “Death Metal,” “Table Flip,” and “Casual Selfie.”

To participate, players can track “Tides of War” in their Mission Journal or check the Events tab in the On Duty menu. Alternatively, you can warp directly to the Open World Content by selecting “Summer Seasonal: Ocean Master.” Prepare yourself for new feats, including “Handheld Celebration,” “Tropical Gumshoe,” “Vacation Ready,” and “Surf and Turf,” all of which have been reorganized to make feat-hunting more intuitive, fun, and easy. This event, open to all level 20 and above, is also debuting new Chromas, base items, and casual beachwear styles to add a summer flair to your gaming experience.

In light of the summer festivities, DCUO is also showing its support for Pride Month, offering free gifts for everyone. Remember, true heroes listen, support, and uplift those around them.

But that’s not all – Artifact aficionados, prepare yourselves! With the recent rebalancing of the Eye of Gemini Artifact, DCUO is giving a week-long double XP boost to all players from June 1, 2023, to June 7, 2023. During this week, all Artifact XP gains will be doubled when fortifying and ranking up your Artifacts.

To ensure that everyone feels the excitement, DCUO is also offering three special Artifact gifts based on player engagement with the Eye of Gemini Artifact, including the Artifact Celebration Pack, the Eye of Gemini Boost, and the Eye Of Gemini Refinement Grant. However, please note, the Bonus Artifact XP week will begin this Thursday after the Game Update’s downtime and last through Wednesday, June 7, 2023. The Artifact Celebration Pack must be claimed by June 14, 2023, while the Eye of Gemini Boost and Refinement Grant have already been automatically applied to all characters with Eye of Gemini Artifacts. The latest episode of DC Universe Online, “Shock to the System,” has been released, and players are diving into the worlds of the Milestone Universe to uncover the secret behind the missing heroes and the chaos in Dakota City.

In this episode, players will have access to new daily and weekly open-world missions and bosses, as well as normal and elite versions of a Duo, Alert, and Raid. There are even special event versions of all content available to players level 20 and up, for a limited time.

The new Alert mission, “Shock to the System: Meta-Therapy Clinic,” has players teaming up with Static and Ebon to investigate a suspicious clinic. The mission can be found under Tier 6 of the 4 Player Tab in the On Duty menu, with a combat rating of 385. There’s also an event version available for players level 20 and up.

The new Raid mission, “Shock to the System: Terrorium,” is the final fight against DeSaad, with Static and Rocket joining players in Desaad’s Terrorium. The mission can be found under Expert Tier 6 of the 8 Player Tab in the On Duty menu, with a combat rating of 385. There’s also an event version available for players level 20 and up.

In addition to the new missions, players can earn new event currency, Meta-Clinic IDs, and Encrypted Schematics. There are new Artifact and Augments, and players can acquire new gear inspired by Rocket and Ebon. Plus, there are new feats, collections, and more.

To add to the excitement, the new Emotes Vendor and Style Menu allows players to equip eight of their favorite emotes for quick use. They can open the new Emotes Wheel by holding Left CTRL or D-Pad Down to quickly use their equipped emotes, and visit Plastic Man in the House of Legends to purchase emotes from other personalities. Players can even preview emotes in the Styles Menu.

“Shock to the System” is available now and is free for all players. With so much new content and features, it’s sure to be a hit among DC Universe Online fans.

DC Universe Online players, brace yourselves for an exciting new year of game updates and developments. The team at Dimensional Ink has released their January 2023 Development Update, giving players a glimpse into what they can expect in the coming months.

The most highly-anticipated update is the launch of Episode 45, titled “Shock to the System.” The episode will take players to the heart of the Milestone universe in Dakota City to investigate the disappearances of heroes and villains. Players can expect open world missions, world bosses, and new player rewards such as gear and styles. The episode will feature characters such as Static, Ebon, Rocket, and DeSaad and will be written by acclaimed comic book writer Leon Chills. “Shock to the System” is set to launch in spring 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

In addition, players can look forward to the annual Attack of the Anti-Monitor event, as well as new rewards in the Love Conquers All and Mister Mxyzptlk’s Mischief seasonal events. A new ally, artifact, and Doctor Fate’s Daily Rewards are also expected to be released in the coming months.

The team is also announced a new emotes system, allowing players to collect new emotes and animations to better express themselves in the game. The 40th episode for DC Universe Online, World of Flashpoint, will be free to all players, permanently.

You may be wondering, why make World of Flashpoint free now if we haven’t also updated Membership? It is a fair question. We want to see how this works for World of Flashpoint and for you, and we also don’t want to sell you an episode now and then give it away to everyone a few months later. We absolutely understand that access to all episodes is an important part of the value of Membership, and that this will be accounted for in our Membership update if we continue in this direction.

Game Update 111 is up and running in DC Universe Online, bringing about Survival Mode Season 2 which can be accessed through the Titan’s Training Sim in the Events tab.

The 30 round challenge pits four players against rounds of minions and bosses and players can earn Earn Materials, Auras, Base Items, Styles, Orbitals, and pets.

With the update comes also the St. Patrick’s Day Seasonal Event.

Mister Mxyzptlk is back this year to taunt Metropolis with his riches! Look for “Mxyleprechauns!” in your Mission Journal, and speak to Mister Mxyzptlk in your HQ.

The Community Style Initiative lets players post ideas for gear in a specified forum thead, then about ten styles will be chosen based on popularity, feasibility, our current plans, and DC approval. A series of polls will then decide on the most popular of those style which will make it into the game.

Two more MMOs have started their seasonal holiday events.

Season Greedings is now underway in DC Universe Online, the event lasts all the way to January 7th.

Three new feats wiill be available for players to obtain, along with three new Henchmen Uplink Devices based on Green and Red Lantern Corps and Sinestro Corp

In Eve Online, the Winter Nexus began today, where players can run into Volatile Ice Storms:

Exclusive to the Winter Nexus holiday season, Volatile Ice Storms will appear and travel between systems in High, Low, and Null Security space, bringing specific environmental effects and content. With this seasonal weather come the Wightstorm combat sites, hacking sites, and ice mining sites.

Players can also earn rewards by logging in on all the 13 days of the Nexus.
