Elyon, the MMORPG from developer Bluehole Studio and publisher Kakao Games is shutting down in Europe and North America.

Elyon first launched back in late October of 2021, but it seems that the game just wasn’t able to keep players hooked for a long period of time, as Kakao stated that low retention rates and a declining number of active players were the main factors for the decision.

Elyon will officially be shut down on December 7 and Kakao Games has already announced that refunds are available for those who purchased KCoin between July 1, 2022 – September 7, 2022.

It’s always sad to see a game fail. At one point it looked like Elyon was going to be a great MMORPG with its interesting world and lore, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.

Elyon will be undergoing some major changes on February 16th. Elyon’s development team is preparing for the server merges, which will result in a more unified Elyon experience for all players.

The European servers will be merged into Andromeda, and the NA servers will be Cassiopeia after the merge.

Preparations for the merge have already begun and players won’t be able to buy Luxury Houses or pay their taxes.

Kakao Games and Elyon has opened pre-registrations for the Archer Class which will be available to all players on January 12th.

What does pre-registering for a class actually mean? Well, in this case, it means that you will be getting an Epic Grade +8 Bow & Quiver for the class if you sign up for the Kakao Games newsletter.

With its latest update, newly released Elyon has introduced a brand new 10-man raid called Ignous the Pyro.

Players at level 43 and above with an items score of 475 and up will be able to earn rewards once per week from the raid with resets on Wednesdays.

Today we’re adding the raid we’ve previously talked about in a modified format tailored for Europe and North America. This version is classified as Stage 1 – in the short future we’ll implement the original, more difficult formats as Stage 2 & 3. We’re looking forward to seeing you clear!

The patch also fixes some minor issues and brings Growth Boxes to the game that players will earn while leveling.

The Korean MMORPG Elyon has now launched in the west. The game got a small patch on launch day to fix a couple of minor issues and turned on rankings.

For the next two weeks, there will be Twitch Drops to celebrate the launch of Elyon.

The Elyon full free-to-play release is almost here and will be available to everyone on Wednesday this week. The headstart is already underway for players who bought any of the Founders Packs after some minor technical issues.

Elyon was originally set to release last month but pushed back the date to avoid a crash with Amazon’s New World.

Kakao Games will be running launch streams on Twitch the whole week and a full stream schedule can be found on the official site.

Yesterday it was announced that the Elyon pre-download and character creation had run into some problems due to a backend platform issue, but it seems that everything is sorted out now and Elyon is now available for pre-download.

Early character creation will be made available on the 14th while the headstart is still set to begin on the 17th.

Elyon pushed back its original release date to avoid a crash with New World and will be out on October 20th. If you are keen to get into the action in Elyon early though, you will want to check out the Founder’s Reward packs available on the Elyon site.

Pre-purchasing any package will grant you access to Elyon 72 hours prior to the official game launch, starting October 17!

The packages also contain various cosmetics, a pet, and a bunch of other items.

Eylon which is set to release on October 20th has released a new cinematic teaser trailer that features some epic music, slightly awkward animations and a cool looking red-haired elf with a gun!

Elyon, the new MMORPG developed by Kakao Games, has announced that they will be postponing their launch from September 29th to October 20th. Elyon is switching to a free-to-play model for Elyon in order to compete in an MMO market that is currently seeing an “abundance of choice”.

It doesn’t seem like this will mean any changes to the actual cash shop in Elyon as the developers state that it is not their intent to use this as a justification to add P2W mechanics.

Players that have purchased pre-orders will be offered compensation.
