sGameforge today announced the forthcoming shutdown of Swords of Legends Online (SOLO). The MMORPG is set to cease operations on June 30, 2023, following months of discussion between Gameforge and the game’s developer, Wangyuan Shengtang Entertainment.

The decision, described as “mutual,” was taken in light of the current MMO landscape, and after an exhaustive exploration of potential alternatives. Despite efforts to boost the game’s standing – including a 2.0 update, shifting to a free-to-play model, and releasing further content patches – player numbers have not been robust enough to ensure the survival of the game.

Effective immediately, Gameforge has deactivated payments for SOLO. Players can continue to spend any previously purchased currency in the Crimson Coin Shop. Starting June 1st, at 2:00 PM CEST, discounts of 90% will be available on several categories, including Outfits, Hairstyles, Weapons, Festive Clothing, Footsteps, Accessories, Mount, and Residence.

The SOLO team expressed their gratitude to the players and the Gameforge staff for their support, saying, “It was our pleasure to fight by your side, exploring the fascinating world of Shenzhou, and making new friends along the way.”

In the FAQ, Gameforge clarified that player accounts or currency migration will not be possible due to substantial differences between Gameforge and Wangyuan Shengtang Entertainment’s game versions, along with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Players will still be able to use their Gameforge accounts to access other titles such as AION or Metin2 even after SOLO’s shutdown. The fate of the Swords of Legends Online forums and social media channels is still under discussion.

The company acknowledged that the news might come as a surprise to some, citing ongoing negotiations with developers in search of viable alternatives as the reason behind the late announcement.

Swords of Legends’ The Firestone Legacy expansion has been delayed a week. The new release date is now March 3rd, meaning that the current battlepass and PvP season will be extended by a week. Players who are looking forward to this expansion should mark the new date in their calendars!

Gameforge is delaying the patch to “continue to work on the version before shipping it out for everyone to enjoy.”. The patch will also mark the shift to a free-to-play model for SOLO.

This expansion will add a ton of new content to the game, including new areas, classes, and content. Yesterday we got a peek at the 5 new dungeons coming in The Firestone Legacy.

Today Sword of Legends Online revealed the Warrior class, which is two classes in one: the male Crystal Warrior and the female Spirit Warrior. Crystal Warriors are masters of melee combat. They can harness the power of crystals to enhance their offensive capabilities, making their sword attacks more agile, or improve their defensive abilities by using runes to cast defensive spells.

Alternatively, Spirit Warriors are trained to project the excess energy around them into their blades. This allows them to perform powerful, single target attacks or area of effect spells.

The Warrior class will be available with The Firestone Legacy which goes live on February 24th.

Sword of Legends Online is gearing up for the Firestone Legacy expansion with the introduction of the Fox Mage class.

The Fox Mage is a powerful magic user who can harness the power of the blood of the Firestone clan and the spirit foxes to deal poison damage.

They are also able to heal themselves and their allies, making them a valuable asset on the battlefield.

The Firestone Legacy will be out on February 24th.

Gameforge has announced the next big update for Swords of Legends Online, titled The Firestone Legacy. The update will go live next month on February 24th and will introduce two new classes, an increased level cap, and plenty of new areas, dungeons, and raids.

With the update, SOLO will also be going free-to-play.

All items that you can buy in the game will remain purely cosmetic, as will Battle Pass content. Anyone who’s already purchased SOLO will receive gifts in the form of insanely pretty items and great bonuses as compensation.

SOLO will also be expanding to more countries and will be made available in Russian and several eastern European countries by the launch of the update.

SOLO’s Patch 1.1.4 arrived today which introduced a few bug fixes to the game, but the main feature of the patch is the new Forbidden Court in the Floral Palace Raid.

You’ll visit the entrance to the Forbidden Court in the Floral Palace Raid already while going through the story quests, as it’s located on the lowest floor of the Double Wisdom Hall.

The raid is available in easy and normal mode and contains four new bosses for players to tackle.

The latest patch for Sword of Legends Online is live. The patch introduces the Hard version of Xuanjiu Jade Palace, as well as Extreme versions of Frostbitten Patch, Chou Prison, and Raging River Ruins.

The fall seasonal event is also here. The Moon Festival features several events and mini-games on Starmirror Island that will reward you with Moon Offering Incense that can be spent on various rewards.

The event will last until October 7th.

Sword Of Legends Online has posted a new roadmap for the rest of 2021 in their latest community update. New content will include Extreme Dungeons and Hard Raids which will be out this month, Extreme Raids next month, more raids and PvP features coming in November, and Winter Festivities coming in December along with some undisclosed content.
